Chhattisgarh cuisine is incomplete without bafauri, a special dish made with chana dal. Food in Chhattisgarh is characterized under two categories, including, tribal and non-tribal menu. Tribal category is famous for dishes like Rakhia badi and petha.

Talking about the religions in Chhattisgarh, then the majority of people here will be found as Hindus. However, due to the presence of some early missionaries and tribes, many Christians are also living in this Indian state. Apart from these, there are other religious sects in Chhattisgarh, like Kabirpanth, Satnami, Ramnarmi Samaj and so on.

Dance is the soul of this state and people here are born dancers and love performing it on different occasions. Raut Nacha is one of the popular folk dances here. Then, there is Soowa dance and Panthi Karma dances that are enjoyed by the locals. In songs, Chulmati, Telmati, Parghani, Bhadoni and Maymouri are popular folk songs of Chhattisgarh. This Indian state is also famous for its handicrafts made on metal, bamboo and terracotta.
