Qutab Minar, Delhi

Some of the important tourist attractions of Delhi include, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Doll Museum, Rail Museum, Lotus Temple, Ahimsa Sthal, Jantar Mantar, and the markets of Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk.

People who like the historical monuments must visit one of the tallest buildings, Qutub Minar. It is built of red sandstone and rises to the height of 72.5 meters. Built by Qutubuddin-Aibak, it is a piece of great architecture of the medieval period of Indian history. There are 379 steps constructed in circular manner.

The top floor of Qutub Minar provides a spectacular view of the city. Lotus Temple or the Bahai’s House of worship is another tourist attraction of the city. Built in a shape of a flower, the temple is also a great work of architecture. It was completed in 1986 and is open to all religions. The silence and peace that you feel while you are inside the temple premise is incomparable.

If you are fond of shopping, Chandni Chowk and Karol are the places that can give you the items of your choice. These two markets are some of the oldest markets and therefore house some of the oldest shops. These markets are important tourist attractions as they are situated in the old city area of Delhi. With narrow lanes and rides on cycle-rickshaws, shopping experience here is memorable.
