Goa, a beautiful Indian state presents a unique blend of social religious culture and that is evident in the festivals that are celebrated here. In fact, the Goan calendar is marked with a number of feast days, including, thanksgiving, monsoon celebrations and processions. Since, majority of people in Goa are Christians, Christmas is celebrated here with great pomp and show.

Then, there is Bonderam festival that is celebrated on the fourth Saturday of August every year. Goans are also fond of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with fun and frolic. They decorate their homes and welcome Lord Ganesha to celebrate this festival.

Goa is also famous for its Food & Cultural Festival that is celebrated for 5 consecutive days. This is a festival in which you get to relish great food including, the popular Goan seafood. Believe it or not, this festivals is a gourmet’s delight.

When talking about the festivals of Goa, one can’t forget mentioning about the famous Goa Carnival that is celebrated two days after Easter. This is a 3 days non-stop colorful event in which people participate to enjoy song, dance and entertainment. Good Friday, Sao Joao Festival, Shigmotsav, Diwali, Feast of Three Kings and St. Francis Day are some other popular festivals of Goa.
