Festivals of Gujarat     Find us on Facebook

If you want to experience a time full of festivities and fairs, then go on a tour to Gujarat. Gujarat is one Indian state, where over 2000 festivals are celebrated annually. It won’t be wrong to state that the Gujaratis just need an excuse to celebrate with dance and music.

Gujaratis are fond of kite flying on the Kite Festival that is celebrated on January 14th. Then, there is the Kutch Utsav that comes in February to celebrate the rich culture of the state. Mahashivratri here is celebrated as a five day festival called Bhavnath.

Then, in March comes Holi, a festival of colors. Lord Krishna’s birthday is also celebrated here in the form of Janamashtami. Navratri is celebrated here as a devotion to Goddess Durga. Deepavali, Vautha Fair and Shamlaji Fair are some other famous festivals and fairs of Gujarat.

Gujarat is also famous for its Ravechi Fair that is held in the Bhadra Sud Atham according to the Hindu Calendar. The main objective of celebrating so many festivals in Gujarat is to kindle the spirit of togetherness.
