Planning a tour to Jammu and Kashmir? Then, plan it after knowing the weather conditions of Jammu and Kashmir. This spectacular Indian state is known for its erratic climatic conditions. Although, it can be explored almost round the year, many tourists prefer visiting it in the winter season when the Kashmir valley is decked up with snow.

Dotted with various lakes and waterbodies, Jammu and Kashmir has a damp climate with a lot of fog and mist during the winter season. Winters here lasts between November and March and is marked with rainfall, snowfall and strong winds. Summers here are not too hot and last between May and July.

Spring in Jammu and Kashmir is between March and May. Rains arrive in this state between July and September. This state is freezed with ice between January and March. Most of the times, the temperature here is below 0 degree Celsius between December and March.

Much of the weather conditions of Jammu and Kashmir are affected due to the presence of forests and the state’s altitude. Winds here blow from different mountains, including, the Zanskar, Pirpanjal and Karakoram.
