Madhya Pradesh is not a big state in area but also big in its way of celebrating occasions and festivals. A home to people of different religions, Madhya Pradesh indeed knows how to celebrate festivals and fairs. Since, most of its population is tribal, there are a number of tribal festivals that are celebrated in this beautiful Indian state.

Bhagoria Haar is a colorful festival celebrated in Madhya Pradesh. During this festival, young people elope and are accepted as husband and wife as a custom. This is a festival to declare love for each other. It is celebrated before Holi. People here are also fond of celebrating Dusshera in a unique way. They worship Danteshwari Mai or Goddess Durga and participate in various celebrations.

Madhya Pradesh is also famous for its Tansen Music Festival that reminds everyone of the famous musician, Tansen, who was born in this state. The erotic place, Khajuraho has its own Festival of Dance, which makes Madhya Pradesh famous in India. The best classical dancers from around the country participate in this dance festival.
