The word “Maharashtra” is supposed to be derived from Rathi, meaning “chariot driver”. It was first come into sight in the 7th century by the efforts of Huan Tsang, a Chinese traveler. The current state was created in 1960 from the Gujarati and Marathi states which were separated. Bombay was decided as its capital. Bombay became the main canal of cultural switch over between northern and southern India.
Maharashtra is a state situated in the western side of Indian sea coastline.
