Weather in Maharashtra

India has 28 states situated in different directions and Maharashtra is located in the western part of the country and has tropical monsoon weather. The main season which the state has is Monsoon and the climate here is hot, rainy and cold. It can be said that it experiences all the three seasons like summer, monsoon and winter season.

The hill stations also experiences the tropical weather and n winters they are much colder than other cities of Maharashtra. Weather in summer season is hot and humid here as it has ocean beside it. The temperatures are at their highest in the months of March to May. The average temperature is from 20 to 40 degrees C.

Monsoon arrives in the state before other states of the country. It starts form June to September. This state experiences a decent spell of rainfall and some of the cities like Nasik, Pune, Satara, Sangli etc experiences less than 50 cm of rainfall while the cities like Konkan and eastern Vidarbha region experiences maximum rainfall. Weather in winter season is quite pleasant and begins in the month of October till February. The average temperature in winter is between 12 to 25 degrees C.
