Manipur has mainly two seasons, including, summers and winters. Summers here are from May to September and winters are from December to February. In summers, the temperature in Manipur rises as high as 32 degrees Celsius and in winters it drops to sub zeroes. The coldest season in this state is between January and July.

July is the hottest month in Manipur and tourists are advised not to tour this state in this month. Due to the favorable climatic conditions of Manipur, there is no problem in doing agriculture and in fact, the state is one of the major producers of rice.

The best time to visit Manipur is between October and February, when the climate here is bright and sunny. Manipur receives an adequate amount of rainfall annually with an average of 933mm. Monsoons here arrive due to the moisture from the Bay of Bengal.
