Planning to go on a tour to Meghalaya? Make the most of it by getting acquainted with its numerous tourist attractions. Its capital, Shillong alone is full of a number of sites that are worth exploring. With a picturesque setting, Shillong houses one of the best Golf Links of India.

When in Shillong, you can visit the beautifully maintained Lady Hydari Park. This part is best to be explored between April to October. Then, there is the Museum of Entomology, which is in fact a treasure house of different kinds of Meghalayan butterflies and insects. Don’t dare to miss out watching the spectacular Shillong Peak, with its height of 1965 meters above sea level.

Also, watch out for the Ward’s Lake and the mesmerizing waterfalls in Shillong. You can also plan an excursion to the wettest place on the earth, Cherrapunjee, which is located at a distance of 55 km from Meghalaya. Apart from it, Mawsynram, Jakrem, Jowai in Jaintia Hills, Tura in Garo Hills, Nartiang and Monoliths in Khasi Hills are also good excursion points from Meghalaya.
