Since, Meghalaya is situated at a high altitude, the climate here is cool and soothing almost round the year. Out of the various regions of Meghalaya, Khasi and Jaintia are the coolest ones and worth visiting during a tour. There are mainly three seasons in this state, including, Summers, Rainy and Winters.

Weather of Meghalaya is neither too dry not to cold in winters. On the other hand, the climate is dry between November and April. It rains heavily in this state between May and October. Winters here lasts between December and February. Summers are till May and rains can come anytime.

Best time to visit Meghalaya is from March to July, when the weather is very pleasant. Since, this state is close to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, the temperature is cool and rain can be expected anytime round the year.
