Known for its traditional heritage and rich past, Mizoram won’t fail to enchant you with its culture. Though, there is nothing compared to a tour to Mizoram, much can be known about its culture by readings. Known as the ‘Songbird of the North East’, Mizoram has many things to boast about.

Mizoram is a home to the Mizo tribe that basically belongs to a Mongoloid race. Apart from this, there are other tribes residing here, like the Lushai, Hmars, Raltes, Mara, Kukis, Pawis and Pang. All these tribes have different characteristics. This state is majorly influenced by Christianity.

People of Mizoram are fond of dancing on different occasions. Cheraw is one of the popular dance forms of this state. Then, there is the Chailam dance that is performed during the Chapchar Kut festival in Mizoram. Men and women in Mizoram simply love indulging in the Sarlamkai dance.

The state is famous for its mastery in various art and crafts like textile printing, bamboo handicrafts and cane works. Apart from this, there is a basketry industry that is flourishing in this Indian state.
