“Punjab,” The Land of Five Rivers, is a northwestern state in the country of India. The name, derived from the Persian word ‘panj’, which means five, and ‘aab’, which means water. The rivers, Jhelum, Chenab, Beas, Ravi, and Sutlej provide fertile land that ensures cultivation. The location of “Punjab,” is very important. There exists international boundary with Pakistan on the western side. The ideal time to visit the state is from October to March, which is the winter season.

- Capital city of Punjab is Chandigarh. Connection by air and rail is easy. The road condition of state is excellent.

- Sikhism and Hinduism are the religion followed by people in this state. Other religious communities have a negligible presence.
