The people of Punjab enjoy leading a lively life. Festivals increase the social interaction amongst them and ensures that they are able to get in touch one again to update with their circle of friends. The following festivals of Punjab deserves to be mentioned:

- Baisakhi or the Food Grain Festival : The fertile lands of Punjab make it become a predominant agricultural state. Thus, Baisakhi is the most important festival as it signifies the arrival of the harvesting season. The special significance of the Sikhs is that Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru had organized the Order of Khalsa on this day.

- Guruparab Festival : This festival is conducted to pay a tribute and respect to their Gurus. Twice the religious people of Punjab hold this. The first one is held in the Indian calendar month of Kartik,(October-November) to pay tribute to their founder, Guru Govind Singh. The second one is held in the Indian calendar month of Pausa (December –January) to pay tribute to Guru Govind Singh of his birth anniversary.

- Holla Mohalla : This festival is celebrated a day after Holi.

- Tika : This festival is held one day after Diwali in the Indian calendar month of Kartik ( October-November).
- Lohri : This festival is celebrated in the Indian calendar month of Pausa(December-January) to celebrate the end of the winter season.
- Teej : This festival is celebrated in the Indian calendar month of Sawan to welcome the monsoon which is important for cultivation of crops.
