It’s not just the rich culture but also the unique cuisine that makes Sikkim a favorite tourist destination. People in Sikkim are extremely fond of rice, meat and dairy products. There are three main ethnic groups here and depending upon them there are three different cuisine cultures.

Non vegetarians will not be disappointed during a tour to Sikkim, as the state offers a variety of non-vegetarian dishes. Beef is the most served non-veg food here. These people generally like their food to be hot and spicy. They usually don’t drink alcoholic drinks but if the climate is harsh, they don’t hesitate in that too.

People of Sikkim also like eating fermented and soybean food. They are also fond of eating maize in different forms. Their cuisine is basically influenced by the Tibetan and Nepali cuisine.
