Tamil nadu is known for it rich culture of literature, music and dance, which continues to flourish the world even today. Unique cultural features like Bharatanatyam, Tanjore painting and Tamil architecture were develop and practiced in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil is the only official language in Tamil Nadu; Whereas English is also common. Tamil poetry has universal appeal as evidenced by many examples. Tirukkural , which was written nearly two millennia ago portrays a universal outlook. During freedom struggle, many Tamil poets and writers sought to provoke national spirit, notably Subramanya Bharathy. Even today there are many creative writers like Bharathidasan, Jayakanthan, and Sujatha.

In Tamil Nadu about 88% identifies as Hindu or Tamilians. Ramana Maharishi, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Murgan, Vishnu and Shiva are the most popular gods, although there are other deities like Rama, Krishna, Ganesha, Parvathi, Surya and other are also being worshipped.

Music is been taken as a God Gift Culture. The ancient kings created Sangams for Iyal, Isai, Nadagam (Literature, music, dance) in which music play vital role in Sangams. The villages where the farming was as occupation, ladies who work in field used to sing Kulavai songs. Devotional Thevaram songs are singed in Temples. Popular culture forms of Tamil folk Music include the Villuppattu and Nattuppurappattu which also conveys the folk history. The Culture of Tamil Nadu is fully blessed with the Music Dance and literature.
