Weather in Tamil Nadu     Find us on Facebook

How is it that possible? That comes, when I heard about the Weather condition of Tamil Nadu which shows seasonal variation. The climate of Tamil Nadu is essentially tropical. Weather ranges from dry semi- humid to semi-arid. The state has three distinct period of the climate (1) Advancing monsoon period with strong southwest winds {June – September}. (2) North east monsoon with dominant northeast winds {October - December}. (3) Dry season {January- May}. The annual rainfall of the state is 37.2 inch. Since the state is entirely dependent on rain for water resources, if monsoon fails then there are chances of water scarcity.

During summer Weather coastal areas becomes warm and humid, as April and May are the hottest month of the year, temperature is likely to go above 40 Degree Celsius. By the end of the day cool sea breeze brings some respite. Hill stations are always appreciated in summer as temperature is likely to stay in 15 – 20 degree only.

Winters are always pleasant in any corner of the Tamil Nadu where the temperature is just around 18- 20 Degree during November to February except hill stations. The lowest temperature is recorded in December. Tamil Nadu experience winter rainfall in the month of October – December. Heavy Rainfall carries thunder along with.
