Enchanting everyone with its numerous attractions, Tripura has a perfect amalgam of culture and history. Most of the people living here are Bengali and therefore the culture is majorly influenced by the Bengali culture. The state houses various ethno-linguistic groups like Tripuris, Noatia, Koloi, Jamatia, Halam, Chakma, Murasing and Reang.

Hinduism is the main religion followed in Tripura and Bengali is the main language spoken here. This state is home to over 19 different tribes that live in harmony with each other. People of Tripura are fond of dance and music. They play musical instruments like Sarinda, Lebang, Sumui, Khamb, Do-Tara and Khengrong.

Basanta Raas is a famous dance of Tripura and people here also like dances like Bihu, Sangraiaka, Chimithang, Wangala, Padisha, Gajan, Sari, Rabindra and Abhangma. Then, there is Garia dance that reflects the prosperity of people living here. People of Tripura worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Tripureshwari.

Kharchi Puja, Durga Puja, Garja Puja and Ker Puja are some of the main festivals celebrated in Tripura. People of Tripura know how to be united and celebrate all occasions.
