The culture of the state of Uttar Pradesh is one of the most interesting and ancient cultures in India. The states bears a mark of Islamic, Hinduism, and Buddhism cultures all mixed together. The state located at the Nepal border also bears a mark of Nepali Hindu culture.

In fact it is not very bold to say that no state in the Indian Union has a culture as vibrant as the culture in Uttar Pradesh. The history of the state has influenced the culture. Songs and dances are a part of the culture of Uttar Pradesh. Folk, classical and semi classical forms of entertainments are deeply imbibed in the culture of UP.

Islamic culture plays a big part in the very foundation of Uttar Pradesh. When Mugals invaded India and rules the country, their palaces and culture was most apparent in Uttar Pradesh, the place where the Mugals lived. UP is one of the major centers of Sunni Muslim culture and teaching. The culture of Uttar Pradesh teaches everyone to live in harmony and peace. Hinduism and Rig Vedas can thank the state for being the place of their creation. Festivals, of all religions are big occasions in Uttar Pradesh and are celebrated pompously.
